‘Secretik’ is a children's game of building special little hiding places with small ‘treasures’ inside. This ritual game is very popular among children. Usually, the ‘Secretik’ consisted of a candy wrapper, a piece of coloured glass, a badge, foil, a postage stamp, a label, a drawing, a letter, or any other small items that were considered valuable among children; the value of the items was not utilitarian, but aesthetic and emotional. These treasures were placed in a small hole dug in the ground, which was usually covered with a piece of glass, coloured or plain, and sprinkled with earth.

The construction of the ‘Secretik’ was carried out in secret from other children and parents. After a while, the ‘Secretik’ could be shown to particularly trusted friends as an artistic composition. Its demonstration served as a way to show or offer friendship, and the construction itself was a unique form of self-expression. The artist takes the meaning of this game as a basis, constructing an installation from ‘Secretik’.

The game here is like an image of incredible treasure that is not equivalent to material goods, but is a human value: friendship, love, feeling. In this series one can see the image of a person, sometimes a portrait vaguely resembling someone, a walking figure turning into glare, silhouettes of buildings. They are like fragments of memories that one wants to keep and share. The artist also works with the painting and collage mediums, which are ‘preserved’ with transparent glue, bringing everything together into a new whole. She uses fragments from her various works, collecting and reworking them into a new object. In this series, the artist uses the children's game ‘Secretik’ to encourage viewers to think about the most valuable things we have, not material possessions, but something personal, inner, something we may hide and be afraid to show, even burying it in the ground, when in fact it is the most important and priceless thing to us.
